The other is a common term in Western post-colonialtheory. In post-colonial theory, Westerners regard non-Western worlds otherthan "self" as "others" and put the two in opposition.According to Hegel's and Sartre's theory, the appearance of “theother” is essential for constituting “self-awareness”, that is, “the other” is a prerequisite for “self”.

In 2016, Trump won the White House asa political amateur, which was unexpected by American mainstream media. Hereinvented the tradition of "political correctness", hispolicy "America First" was a subtext of "white first".

The Asian population ranks behind the African and Latinos in the proportion ofthe American minority population, and the Chinese population only accounts for 1.4% of the US population, becoming a veritable "the other" . Althoughthe percentage is small, President Trump has won the votes of white people whoare looking for jobs in the "swing state" in the Midwest of the United States.

This article takes the 2020 U.S. election as an opportunity, and uses questionnaires and interviews to research Chinese people who have been toor stayed in the U.S. since 2016 , and tries to reflect their predictions ofthe 2020 presidential election and the attitude to American social problemssuch as "manufacturing outflow" behind the election.

Fromthe perspective of "the other", Chinese who have been to America can examine the "self" of the United States under the Trump’s administration and respond to the blindspots of the opinions of most Americans (especially the white); they can alsobeseparated from the "pseudo-environment" created from the Chinese media and directly contact the American society so that they can form an intuitive understanding to the U.S.. It is a unique advantage for predictive research and can better reflect the more objective reality of the United States.

★ 导师推荐信

★ 一篇世界英文会议论文或世界一般期刊论文（如EI、CPCI等）

●主导师课时：共15个课时，主导师每周授课一次，约15周完结；

●助教课时：依据学生状况由主导师进行组织；

● 开课时刻：全年翻滚招生，名额有限，先到先得。
